I hold the lead playing alone this game against a supergroup of The Regulars with six people/nine boards. All 19 Playmakers were in action for this game.

My game so far had gone like this:
TuneUp....5000/5000....1st/19...I win this round but nine players are tied at 4500.
OnBeat...10750/14000...2nd/19...PHREDD wins round and has 11000. I was 6 right, 1 wrong, and 2 I didn't answer.
JukeBox...15667/20000...3rd/18...MOLSON and VIKING (same guy) win round and take lead.
Triviaoke...22374/28000...1st/18...OLE JR wins round and closes to 21858 but I hold the lead.

I risk the maximum 50% to hold my lead if I'm right. What could they ask about these five guys? Bill MADDOG had arrived about halfway through the JukeBox round but there were no boards available. I had him for backup for this last question. I was worried that I wouldn't have time to write down the question as I'd forgotten my microcassette recorder so let's hope I don't have to concentrate too long on thinking of an answer.

Question:...Famous for his "Sing A Long" albums he was an oboe soloist in the CBS orchestra.

Oh great, no problem! This is only the second time in 1999 I've known the answer right off without having to narrow down the choices. I press in '4' and then go back to writing down the question. Bill knew this too but I had to wait that few seconds for the 'answer now' sign to cue up. (You've read how I've botched this up in other games). Mitch Mitchell was before my time but I've heard of him before and can remember the Flintstone parody "Hum-A-Long With Herman".

Correct Answer:...4. Mitch Miller

I'm right and win with 33561 points. That's good for 8th on the Network Top 20 board and 16th overall. I didn't think my score would have been good enough for Network anything but it was either that last question or the tough earlier rounds limited scores. The bar is 2nd in North America with a 32613 average. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting the 12000 point standard.

Some of the final scores in the bar (well those that finished in the Top 100 at the ntn.com site) were:
ROCKET..............33561.........17th.
OLE JR................32787.........19th.
JARVIS................32745.........20th.
KELLY..................32599.........21st.
VIKING.................31377.........35th.
MOLSON..............31317.........36th.
ENIGMA...............30917..........40th.
PHREDD..............30132..........49th.

Other games:
8:00pm...Countdown...9194/15000...3rd/6...I'm 2412th in North America...bar is 620th...1000+ Players Plus points...MRFROG wins.
8:30pm...Countdown...12107/15000...1st/6...I'm 82nd in NA...bar is 128th...2000+ points...I had a lot of help in this game but after that everyone dispersed.
9:00pm...Wipeout...9684/15000...7th/9...I'm 1751st in NA...bar is 9th in North America with an 11908 average...1000+ points...JARVIS wins.
9:30pm...SunSportsCountdown...11097/15000...2nd/19...I'm 41st in S. Ont...bar is 3rd in Southern Ontario with a 10565 average...1000+ points...LESTAT wins. I answer the soccer question for the max 1000 'a bad joke' which was the answer for Robbie Fowler's of Liverpool celebrating his goal against Everton last week by 'snorting' the white box line to counter rumours of drug use. I saw that on Soccer Saturday earlier in the day.
10:00pm...Playback (see above)

I gave my board away because I'm leaving and we collect the extra boards from The Regulars when some of my friends come back from playing pool.
