I'm in anchored in 7th place after falling behind in the OnBeat round. A perfect game in the JukeBox round couldn't move me up. A group of six of us at the bar earlier in the evening fizzled to just me and BERGIE by the time this game started. A wonky Playmaker didn't mess up any of my answers in this game.
My game so far had gone like this:

We put 50% on the line for the Encore question. The regulars have only three members but they control five boards; quite a contrast to them only having one box when they got here earlier. Jeff gave his board to them as he was going to the upstairs to play pool then found out it was closed for a private party. I inherited a board from FLAK who asked me to mind it for him then didn't return except to see how I was doing. I might get 1000 points for me and 800-900 for him. I don't have that DAVETV coordination to even keep two boards going!
All these answers were punk rock bands from the late 1970s/early 1980s. What could they ask? Group members? Song titles? Jello Biafra=Dead Kennedys....well bring it on!

Ah this one was so easy. The question is so similar to one they had last year [in October 1998] about Henry Rollins. I tipped off BERGIE and Y (Yvonne) who'd returned for the last half of the game, put my answer in and answered for FLAK. I'm already thinking of next week's OnBeat round questions...hmm too late in the week for Thursday's Grammy Awards, but they should have Scary Spice's baby, Scott Weilland's rehab, Ol' Dirty Bastard's arrest for wearing a flak jacket, Garth Brooks tries out for San Diego Padres etc. Also this night when BERGIE gave me a good reason why Japan would open a museum for Beatle John Lennon but I picked Paul McCartney for -250.

I'm right and finish with 31968 points. That keeps me in 7th place of the 17 players in this game. The North American individual scores are not displayed. Actually, the count up was so slow that they only got to 8th before the monitor cut for commercials. I was able to piece the top scores together when the final standings were shown. The bar finished in 6th place (NTN dropped us to 8th on their site) in North America with a 33712 average. MOLSON won with 34099 and that was 7th all time on the bar's 'Hall of Fame' which displaced my 10th place score off the board. I earn 3000+ Players Plus points for meeting this week's 13000 point standard.

I was happiest getting the women's soccer question in the SunSports game right for 1000 points. Hey it was nice to win three games and get a full 8000 Players Plus points for three hours work. The bar turned up the sound on the televisions for the first Toronto Maple Leaf game at the Air Canada Centre instead of the usual piped in music.
