For this game and the previous sports game I've found a place at the bar to play with Bill MADDOG (a lot more fun than playing alone). I'm currently in 7th place after clawing my way up in the pack but some confusion on the last triviaoke question when I had 1000 and my friend Paul nudging me to pick something else when he meant it looked like I hadn't answered. I was used to that bum Playmaker all night with it's 'Answer Now' commands. Usually I'd press the answer eight times and give up but it would credit me anyway at my high score.

My game so far had gone like this:
Tune-Up.........4000/5000.......8th in two way tie.......MOLSON and JARVIS perfect.
OnBeat...........9750/14000.....3rd (I win round).........MOLSON and JARVIS at 10250.
JukeBox.......13335/20000......6th (KELLY wins).......KELLY takes lead.
Triviaoke.....18328/28000......7th..(SHUGS wins).....ENIGMA takes lead.

Besides MADDOG and Mike and Yvonne (playing STEVE because they hadn't changed the name from someone who'd gone home) within earshot, this game also had non players stopping to say hello including my friend Paul from the swimming pool and the famous DAVETV who paid me some great compliments in front of my friends. Playback is 'my game' according to him.

With 50% on the line and thinking that any question about modern bands would have a lot of right answers:

Question:...Who opened for KISS at this year's Halloween concert at Dodger Stadium?

Very easy for me as I saw this (30 minute--two KISS songs, circus tricks, other group- one song) 'Psycho Circus' concert on television (well I taped it because I was playing trivia here). Then thinking about it the next day it might seem unfair because this played live on Halloween (Saturday) night when most people would be playing this game or out at parties (hmm just as likely Boxing Day too). The surprise would probably be that most people would think KISS would have a 'harder' rockers opening act. All of these groups are headliners on their own. I told MADDOG I knew for sure and then waited the 28 more seconds until the answer came up.

Correct Answer:.....3. Smashing Pumpkins.

I'm right and finish with 27492 points. That's good for 2nd place as most of 'the regulars' group are wrong. I finish 119th in North America and earn 3000+ Players Plus points. The bar was 307th. Must have been a tougher question than I thought but it didn't look like attendance for North America was less on this holiday weekend.

The rest of the bar:
Player.................pre Encore.........Final..........Rank...
ENIGMA...............20003...............10002...........6390...
KELLY..................19851.................9925...........6418...
STEVE.................19785................15828..........4288...Yvonne's usual strategic betting
MOLSON.............19547.................9773...........6473...
JARVIS................18895..................9473...........6581...
SHUGS................18890..................28335...........102...
ROCKET..............18328..................27492...........119...
MADDOG.............17765..................26647...........383...
WORD..................12600..................18900.........3179...
COITUS.................4637.....................6955.........7490...

I had asked Paul to spy on the couple at the corner of the bar. The lady SHUGS won but I believe she was listening in on my answers to MADDOG. I didn't really care at the time because I was so far behind. Getting the last Triviaoke question correct or tilting my board instead of blurting the answer in Encore may have won me the game.

I didn't get a straight answer from the regulars but later thought of Halloween night which was one of the few nights they weren't here. ENIGMA even looks like shaven headed Billy Corgan although his 'look' is more likely role model wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Other games:
8:00pm...Countdown...11534/15800...1st/8...TAXMAN wins...that's Marvin who left near the beginning of the game and I had trouble signing on to my own Playmaker so I just used his...he's 61st in Canada...bar is 272nd...he earns 1000+ points.
8:30pm...Countdown...7925/15000...3rd/12...I'm 2981st in North America...bar is 1069th...2000+ points...WORD wins.
9:00pm...Wipeout...just over 8000?/15000...3rd/11...bar is ???...1000+ points...OLE JR wins (KELLY on inherited board?).
9:30pm...SunSports Countdown...8782/15000...5th/8...55th in Southern Ontario...bar is 2nd in Southern Ontario with a 9283 average...1000+ points...JARVIS wins and is 15th but 10th as P+ NEW on the Network top 20 with 10406 points. (This is the kind of score I expect involving sports and not being fed the answers, although still a good position among other players).
10:00pm...Playback (see above).

One joke from DAVETV tonight in his short visit. I don't know if it's original but the Web seems to want to know about his wit.
"...so I'm just waiting to say at Bob Barker's funeral as they put him into the grave, 'Lower, lower'.
Paul didn't know who Bob Barker was or the audience chanting this on his TV game show for contestants to auction bid for their prizes.
