Here are the details of the CNSL (Canadian National Soccer League)
game of Thursday July 27, 1995 played at Esther Shiner Stadium in North
York 8pm between the Toronto Jets (home) and the Hamilton White Eagles.
This was considered a CUP game.

Ref Holt Elliott?  The officials in green tops.  Never seen them like
this in this league, but the goalies were wearing almost all black.

1st half

Off to literally a slow start as heckler had to yell after about 30
seconds "Hey! Start the clock!" to get the guys in the PA booth to
get the timer started.

18 min  Hamilton yellow Bakoc for constant tripping of Houston.  He'd
already been cautioned just a moment before.
19 min resulting free kick.  Goalie slaps out rebound headed by
Houston and headed off line by defender.

24 min Jets hit outside of goalpost after short freekick to Jet man in
wall about ten yards out.

28 min Hamilton second yellow = red to defender Bakoc for hand ball as
last man back prevented a breakaway.  White Eagle strategy now seemed
to change to five defenders and almost no midfield.

32 min Hamilton yellow Medina for tripping Houston.

37 min Hamilton yellow Oyaque for knocking down Gamble.

38 min Hamilton yellow Nachev for standing one yard from ball on free
kick which was awarded after Jets player almost had his legs pulled
off on vicious trip!  I'd say that's what should have rated the yellow
card! 
42 min Hamilton GOAL Zubic takes bouncing pass 15 yards out and one
touch volleys it over goalie who'd come out about 10 yards.

Summary:  Jets had most of the chances but White Eagles scored one one
of their only ~two chances.

2nd Half:

Jets sub Farreira and Cancelliere for Marcucci and Fioccola.

49 min Jets GOAL Rizzo takes low shot to centre of net.  Goalie first
dives right but reaches back when he sees shot and gets hand on ball
but ball spins off hands into net.  Why Jets were awarded the shot I'm
not sure because I went to the PA booth to write out the lineups; no
one page program at the ticket booth; and to try to get the correct
standings.  I succeeded but I'll post that in a different message!

53 min Hamilton yellow to Zubic (now I can't remember why).

69 min Jets yellow Annissi for either kicking ball away after whistle
or talking to ref.

81 min Jets GOAL  Zomparelli (1st of season) after ball kicked
forward by defender saving good cross attempt.  Geez, when did he
enter the game?

83 min Zubic just misses header which he pops wide of net.

87 min Jets GOAL  Marcucci (4th of season).  Houston gives him perfect
pass after 30 yard sprint up right wing.  Marcucci slides ball in open
side of net.

90 min Hamilton Red card  Medina gets it for tripping Marcucci after
the roles were reversed about thirty seconds earlier.

Final score:  Toronto Jets 3  Hamilton White Eagles 1

Now the other news I have is that I'll be posting the correct
standings in both the League and Cup standings.

Also the league will put together an All Star team to play the Italian
League club PARMA on Sunday August 13th at 6:30pm at Varsity Stadium
in Toronto.  Tickets sold through Ticketmaster and community groups.

MAYBE a CNSL All Star team will play the Jamaican National team
at Birchmount Stadium in Scarborough (home of the Astros) next week
(Friday?) between Jamaican games in the Caribana Cup with the
Canadian National team and Trinidad-Tobago National team.

Look for the heading "CNSL Toronto standings" for those
standings.
