York United FC Academy welcomes local standout Ardit Abdulah

York United FC is excited to announce that Ardit Abdulah has joined York United FC Academy ahead of the 2025 League1 Ontario season. York United’s scouting staff first noticed Abdulah during the Talented Pathway program by Ontario Soccer last summer. His performances earned him the opportunity to take part in the club’s tryouts. That moment marked the beginning of his journey with the Nine Stripes.

Abdulah impressed York United’s scouting staff during a summer camp, showcasing his composure, technical ability, and sharp decision-making. His performance stood out, and the club quickly recognized his potential.

“My pathway to York United started from the Talented Pathway to Pro, which happened last summer,” Abdulah explains. “Every tryout York United has hosted has always been a very good opportunity for young players in Canada, giving them the chance to train like a professional.”

Now officially part of the academy, he values the club’s commitment to developing young Canadian talent.

“What I like most about York United is their focus on young Canadian players,” he says. “Instead of looking elsewhere, like most pro academies do, York really invests in the local talent we have here.”

His development has already included valuable experiences against strong opposition, including top youth teams from Italy and renowned universities in the United States. Competing at a high level has sharpened his skills and prepared him for the next step.

With his sights set on making an impact at York United, Abdulah shares a message for young players chasing their dreams:

“My advice is to work hard and improve as much as possible. The chance is there; it’s open to everyone.”
