Mitchell Family Office Acquires Majority Ownership of AFC Toronto 

Toronto, ON (April 15, 2025) - AFC Toronto is proud to announce Mark Mitchell of Mitchell 
Family Office (MFO) as the new Majority Owner of Toronto’s first-ever professional women’s 
soccer club. As AFC Toronto launches its inaugural Northern Super League season, this 
strategic investment lays the foundation for the club’s long-term sustainability and success, 
while demonstrating the league’s ability to attract international investors. 

Mitchell is a seasoned Canadian-American investor and former CEO with over 40 years of 
experience driving business expansion and operational improvements through a people-first 
approach. Under his leadership, his family-run and community focused firm has successfully 
invested in over 30 companies across various industries including automotive, hospitality, retail, 
real estate, technology, skilled nursing, professional sports and general healthcare.

AFC Toronto was represented in the transaction by Whitecap Sports Group, a sports investment 
banking and advisory firm located in Tampa, Florida.  

The 2025 AFC Toronto season kicks off on April 19 with the inaugural match against the
