Toronto, ON (December 12, 2024) - AFC Toronto is excited to announce its seventh official
signing: Canadian National Team midfielder Emma Regan (24). Regan, who joins AFC Toronto
from Danish powerhouse, HB Koge, has four caps for the Canadian National Team. Regan
started and completed 90 minutes in the recent 5-1 victory against South Korea on December
3rd, 2024.

Originally from Burnaby, British Columbia, Emma Regan developed her skills with the
Vancouver Whitecaps Girls Elite REX program, where she served as team captain from
2016-2018 and was named the 2015 Vancouver Whitecaps Most Promising Player and BC
Soccer Youth Player of the Year. At the University of Texas at Austin (2018-2022), she played 90
games, scored 4 goals, and recorded 6 assists as a four-year starter. Regan captained the
Longhorns from 2020-2022, leading them to the 2022 Big 12 Championship and earning All-Big
12 honors in 2019, 2021, and 2022. She was also named to the United Soccer Coaches
All-Midwest Region Third Team in 2021 and the Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Best XI
Freshman Team in 2018.

“Emma exemplifies the ambition, hunger and leadership we look for in a player. She’s a natural
leader who has excelled across national team programs and has continued to rise with a
determination to play at the highest level,” said Marko Milanovic, Head Coach of AFC Toronto.

“Her versatility in midfield, strong fundamentals, and relentless drive to develop make her a
perfect fit for our club’s vision.”

Regan earned her first cap with the Canadian Women’s National Team in June 2018 during a
friendly against Germany. She made her competitive debut later that year, appearing in
Canada’s October 2018 match against Cuba at the Concacaf Women’s Championship. She was
part of the squad that earned a silver medal at the tournament and secured qualification for the
2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

In 2023, Regan signed her first professional contract with Danish club HB Køge, where she
made 32 appearances, excelling in both defensive and midfield roles, scoring three goals, and
helping the team secure the league title. In 2024, she earned a call-up for the SheBelieves Cup
in Atlanta.

“Joining AFC Toronto and the Northern Super League is incredibly exciting,” said Emma Regan.

“After playing abroad for years, the chance to return to my home country and compete in front of
my family, and friends (some of whom I get to play with) means so much. Soccer has taken me
to amazing places, but there’s nothing like representing Canada in a league we’ve long
deserved. I’m proud to help build this legacy and contribute to the future of Canadian soccer.”

Regan marks the seventh official player signing for AFC Toronto. More player announcements
are set to be released over the coming months and into the new year as the team prepares for
its debut season.
