York United FC sign Canadian defender Finn Raible to Development Contract
The 16-year-old centre-back is a native of Kelowna, BC and developed his craft at BTB Soccer Academy in Edmonton.
York United FC can confirm the signing of Finn Raible to a Development Contract.
The 16-year-old defender is an imposing and dominant centre-back, composed in possession and with an impressive passing range.
A native of Kelowna, BC, the teenager has been nurtured at the BTB Soccer Academy in Edmonton for the past 18 months
and his arrival is a reflection of the club's commitment to scouting both locally and nationally in the hunt
for elite talent.
"Finn is another superb addition to the group, and we're thrilled that he and his family believe in our commitment
to developing young talent," says Ricardo Pasquel, General Manager and President, York United FC.
"Finn is relocating here to further his career and we will assist him in every way we can. As a young player with plenty
of potential, it's our job to make sure Finn feels anchored here and receives all the guidance and mentorship required
to make it to the next level."
Raible is the fourth Development Contract signing in recent weeks for The Nine Stripes, following the arrivals of Lukas Pareja,
Joshua Lopez and Anthony Umanzor and the capture of such a quality quartet is the result of some hard work from the club's
scouting department, led by Jorge Villalpando and Silviu Butnaru.
"From day one, the objective has been to build a network and curate proper, fully-fledged relationships with as many clubs
as possible," says Pasquel.
"There is so much talent across this country and thanks to the dedication of Jorge and Silviu, we are making progress in how
we scout. We've benefitted enormously from some impactful collaborations with clubs and look forward to continuing
those friendships."
