York United announce departure of midfielder Brem Soumaoro

York United announced on Tuesday the departure of midfielder Brem Soumaoro, after agreeing to a mutual termination
of his contract.
The 27-year-old made 39 appearances overall for the club, netting twice and adding two assists. He proved a crucial
ingredient as The Nine Stripes reached the playoffs and the quarter-finals of the Canadian Championship in his
debut 2023 season.
During the 2024 campaign, he tallied 11 appearances and one assist.
“Brem was an important part of the club and we will remember him fondly here,” says Ricardo Pasquel, General Manager
and President of York United FC. “He has always been extremely professional to deal with and approached everything
with humility. We wish him the very best with his next chapter and thank him enormously for everything he contributed
while he was here.”
