Sweet Home Osceola
For the first time in its 2024 campaign Orlando City B will return home for a match at Osceola County Stadium. The Lions
posted a 9-3-2 record last season when playing in Osceola, including seven straight matches undefeated at home
to start 2023, with five of those being wins, the best home stretch OCB has ever had in its history. The Lions nine
home wins played a big part in securing the most points they have achieved in a single season in Club history and pushing
the team to their first-ever playoff appearance.
Seven for Seven
The Lions have seen offensive production from a number of places this season, with all seven of their goals in 2024 being
scored by seven different players. Justin Ellis, Alex Freeman, Colin Guske, Shak Mohammed, Jhon Solís, Wilfredo Rivera
and Yutaro Tsukada have all found the back of the net for OCB, spreading the offensive production across the entire
formation. Rivera and Tsukada have also contributed to the offensive tally through assists, with Tsukada posting
two helpers and Rivera one so far.
Leveling Up
Orlando City B announced earlier this week that it has completed the signing of Orlando City Academy product Colin Guske
to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through 2024. A product of the Orlando City Academy since 2020, Guske made his professional
debut this year with Orlando City B, starting in all three of his appearances so far in the campaign. The St. Johns, Fla.,
native also scored his first professional goal in the Club’s season-opening match against Atlanta United 2, tallying
the game-winner. Guske, 17, joined the Orlando City First Team for preseason, participating in the team’s weeklong training
camp in Mexico earlier this year.
Road Warriors
The Lions have spent four of their first five matches to start their 2024 campaign as the away team, with their one “home” match
being played at IMG Academy as a neutral-site matchup at Generation adidas Cup. Of those four road matches, Orlando City B
was able to take at least a point away from each matchup, taking a win over Atlanta United 2 and Crown Legacy, and securing
the extra point at Huntsville City FC via the end-of-regulation shootout. OCB’s win over Crown served as the North Carolina-based
side’s first ever loss at home in the regular season.
