After the game the Canadian players and team officials formed a circle on the field.

Attendance was announced near the end of the game as 18805. The upper deck of the east side stands were empty and I don't believe were made available for sale. The fans were crammed onto the lower bowl and and upper deck on the west side. Tonight was also a Pride Night with the Canadians wearing hard to read rainbow numbers on their backs.

This was the second game in the 'Summer Send Off Series' with the first one held in Montreal on Saturday June 1st. That was a 2-0 win for Canada against Mexico.

The Canadians looked good in the first half with Mexico rarely getting out of their own end. The last ten minutes of the game however it looked like Mexico would score the winner as they took over and got most of the chances.

Canada head coach Bev Priestman said after the game that rotating in the players she wanted to watch to decide who she would name to the small 18 man roster for the Olympics games in Paris France was even more important than a result in tonight's game. The good play of some of these young/fringe players makes her decision harder. She said preference will be given to players who can play multiple positions to fit in for injured players or a change in strategy against certain games.

Priestman said after the game that Canada is lining up two more possible training games from their base camp in Spain before the Olympic games actually get started. Canada starts July 25th and has games on the 28th and 31st in group play.
