A month into its inaugural season ticket drive, York9 FC has already sold out one of the best
seats at Alumni Field and York Lions Stadium.

A local business launch event Wednesday night in York Region resulted in supporters locking
up the remaining selection of York9’s “race car” seats, which will be placed in close proximity
to team benches along the touchline.

“I’m not surprised we sold it out, but to do it in less than 30 days is impressive,”
said Ben Zayandehroudi, York9 FC’s VP of Ticket Sales and Fan Services.

“The quality of the seat was a big seller.”

The 96 “electric green” padded seats lining York9’s pitch will offer one of the most unique
— and comfortable — viewing experiences in the Canadian Premier League. They were valued
from $900 to $1,000 each for the season.

Zayandehroudi says Wednesday’s event, which was attended by more than 800 community members,
offered York Region business leaders and fans a unique chance to familiarize themselves with
the amenities that will be on offer at York9 FC matches in the CPL’s inaugural season.

“We haven’t had a place for our fans to walk into, so this event was a big opportunity
to showcase what we offer,” Zayandehroudi added.

“People enjoyed craft beer, they sat in the seats, they talked to our sales representatives
about the stadium and learned about the kind of players this club is going to sign.”

York9 will play at least a portion of the 2019 season at nearby Alumni Field as renovations
are made at York Lions Stadium, a soon-to-be 8,000-seat home for the club.

When it comes to other premium seats at both venues next year, Zayandehroudi says the club’s
VIP field tables are very limited.

“For a new team in a new community in a new league, it shows how hungry people are for pro
soccer north of Hwy. 401,” he added.

The surge in premium seat purchases arrives just days after the club announced its 1,000th
membership deposit. Zayandehroudi added the club has reached out to every member.

Supporters who attended Wednesday night’s event were also introduced to Kyle Porter, the first
player in club history.

The Toronto-born wide player was officially unveiled to the public on Thursday.

Porter returns to the GTA with over 150 professional appearances across North America
and Germany, along with seven caps with Canada’s national team.
