Toronto FC II signs Adolfo Ovalle, Trevor Swartz and Patrick Bunk-Andersen March 13, 2019 2:29PM EDT Toronto FC Communications Club also adds Jesus West on loan Toronto FC II announced today that the club has signed midfielders Adolfo Ovalle, Trevor Swartz and defender Patrick Bunk-Andersen. In addition, the club has acquired defender Jesus West on loan from Club del Este FC of the Liga Panameña de Fútbol (Panamanian first division). All four players will join the club’s roster pending league and federation approval. Ovalle, 21, most recently played for Ranger de Talca in Primera B (second division in Chile), where he made four appearances in 2018. Before joining Ranger de Talca, Ovalle played with Real Salt Lake in 2015, where he appeared in six Major League Soccer games. He also played on loan to RSL’s USL affiliate club Real Monarchs for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, playing 21 matches and logging 1,379 minutes. Internationally, the defensive midfielder represented Chile at the U-20 level. Swartz, 24, a native of Cameron Park, Calif., played at Indiana University, where he appeared in 82 games over four seasons, registering 12 goals and 27 assists. In 2018, Swartz earned second team All-Big 10 honours and led the NCAA with 16 assists. Bunk-Andersen, 24, a native of Copenhagen, Denmark, played at Clemson University, where he appeared in 82 games in four seasons. In 2016 and 2017, Bunk-Andersen was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year. Toronto FC selected Bunk-Andersen in the third round of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. West, 19, recently spent time with Toronto FC in Los Angeles for 2019 preseason. He represented Panama and made five appearances at the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship, where the team qualified for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
