Result and details of the Saturday September 29, 2018 MLS game between Toronto FC and New England Revolution
played at BMO Field in Toronto at 7:30PM.

9 min...NER Cristian Penilla GOAL...NER Andrew Farrell intercepts pass just on the NER side of the center line
on right and starts run up wing to 40 yard line sideline and he chips pass forward for NER Luis Caicedo who
has run behind defenders to get to ball on right side of box and with goalie having angle covered his 8 yard
pass from right edge of 6 yard box is rolled across box but retreating TFC Gregory van der Wiel partially clears
it from 4 yards as he falls backwards. Caicedo standing at same place gets ball back and would have had
TFC Marky Delgado block his shot so taps centering pass for Penilla to shoot low 10 yard shot up middle between
players and into left side of net beyond diving goalie Alex Bono.

35 min...TFC Sebastian Giovinco GOAL...TFC Marky Delgado gets foot in to intercept short pass on center line
and nutmegs NER player when he taps pass to TFC Victor Vazquez who rolls long pass forward for Giovinco to run
down right. Giovinco receives ball at 35 yards and charges to top right corner of box and shoots 22 yarder
over goalie Brad Knighton at 4 yards and into top left side of net.

52 min...TFC Lucas Janson GOAL...TFC Victor Vazquez sends pass forward from 60 yards as he's falling
to TFC Sebastian Giovinco to receive ball at 35 yards in center and he passes forward and left for charging
Janson who receives it at 22 yards and low 15 yard shot from has goalie at 4 yards on left side of net but
huge rebound given up. Janson who had fallen got up and shoots 8 yarder from just outside top left corner
of 6 yard box over fallen goalie and ball deflects off shoulder of retreating NER Jalil Anibaba into top right
side of net.

57 min...TFC Sebastian Giovinco at 22 yards on right just outside box chips pass to left side of box has
TFC Lucas Janson head ball from just outside left side of 6 yard box over to center for TFC Michael Bradley
to blast 8 yard shot down middle but sliding Jalil Anibaba from behind trips up Bradley. Referee Ismail Elfath
awards Penalty kick.

57 min...TFC Victor Vazquez GOAL...Vazquez stutter steps then shoots Penalty kick low to right as goalie
dives left.

80 min...TFC Marky Delgado GOAL...TFC goalie catches short pop up in 6 yard box and runs forward and quickly
throws long ball from near edge box upfield to over halfway line on bounce and TFC Victor Vazquez at 40 yards
on left. Vazquez cuts to middle as he continues his run forward and taps a short pass forward from 25 yards
to TFC Lucas Janson who shoots low 15 yarder from left that goalie diving forward gets a hand to at 5 yards
and pops ball up and over to right. Delgado heads 12 yarder from right into short right side of net beyond
diving goalie.

Final Score:...Toronto FC.......4.....New England Revolution........1........

Attendance was announced as 24710. It was TFC's seventh annual Canadian Armed Forces Night with the club
announcing that there were 300 members of the forces here. We had a fighter jet fly over just after the
national anthems but it was too fast for me to see. That attendance was pretty low but their playoff chances
are now a long shot, the weather is cooling off and the Revs aren't a glamorous team unlike the
Los Angeles Galaxy with Zlaten Ibrahimovic which was a sellout two weeks ago.

Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was announced as Marky Delgado for his one goal and overall play.
I would have picked Lukas Janson as he scored the winning goal and took the shot that the Revs goalie dove
to save that let the big rebound out that Delgado headed in. Janson also was in an awkward place as he had
to enter the game almost cold at 17 minutes when Jozy Altidore was injured. He almost scored at 88 minutes
when he had a low 15 yard shot beat the goalie but hit the inside of the right post but stayed out. He had
another few shots saved. (reporter Neil Davidson wrote he had six shot on target). I'll say it was the best
game he's played for the team since being acquired on August 8, 2018 on loan from Tigre
of the Argentine Premier League.

The Revs scored first but TFC gradually took over. Revs players had a lot of shots blasts high and wide
right in that first half or may have had a lead at halftime. Revs only 2 shots on target vs 11 by TFC.
Revs took 10 shots vs 19 for TFC.

This was the first time this season that TFC have come from behind to win when they haven't scored first.

It was smart to let Victor Vazquez take the Penalty kick to put the game away rather than left Giovinco
try to regain his Penalty kick touch. Vazquez sent the goalie the wrong way on his shot.

The Revs goalie Brad Knighton gave out too many rebounds and I wouldn't say it was because the field was wet.

Our cardboard ticket was titled “Coach of the Year” and had a picture of Greg Vanney. He certainly looked
good today with all his preferred starters except maybe still injured Drew Moor.

Jonathan Osorio was once again the only Canadian to start. He had a goal called back that would have given
TFC the lead but it was called back after VAR review because of a foul he committed earlier in the play.
He was eventually subbed out at 86 minutes for another Canadian Jay Chapman ensuring maybe an unwritten rule
that one Canadian has to be on the field at all times. The only other Canadian even on the bench was defender
Ashtone Morgan. At lease Jordan Hamilton was playing...but for TFC II down in Charleston where he subbed
in late and scored the winning goal.

It is very appropriate that I let my TFC Season Ticket Renewal deadline lapse as I am not satisfied
at Canadians being pushed off the team the last few years by Mr GAM and Mr TAM. I've read it will get worse
next year as the MLS is determined to beat the Mexican teams to win the CCL...and then what?...get beaten
by Barcelona or Manchester City? I've found what I expect to like, the new Canadian Premier League.

TFC keeps their slight chances of making the playoffs alive as Montreal was losing at our halftime
by a 3-0 score and eventually lost 5-0 on the road to DC United. DC however is one of the teams that
is ahead of TFC and is the most likely to pass Montreal for the final playoff spot and have games in hand
on all the Eastern teams. New England stays ahead of TFC even with this loss. The MLS site says they have
only won once in their last 12 games. Over the last few months they have exchanged places with
Philadelphia Union for fifth spot. The www.sportsclubstats.com lists the TFC probability of making the
playoffs are slightly up to 1.2%.

On our way out were given a sample pack of Tic Tac gum. They are only the same size as their famous mints
so I needed the four pieces in the pack to give me as much gum as I'd find in a single piece of Chiclets.
