Attendance was announced as 29925. It looked good—the fullest its been for any game in the series. The north end zone stands were sold for this game. A lot of tickets were sold or transferred to fans I hadn't seen before including Chivas fans. They made themselves known early when the visitors scored one minute into the game. The weather got colder as they night wore on. Still getting snowed on tonight was the rain which fell on us last game in the front rows when the wind changed direction. We're just getting over an icestorm over the weekend which is unusual for halfways through April. A new trophy was unveiled after the players came out onto the field. Like the other CCL rounds, there are no national anthems played. There was only one Yellow given out tonight by referee Ricardo Montero from Costa Rica. Montero had been to Toronto before as he was the referee on March 7 for the game against Tigres UANL and the fourth official for the Club America game. This was the third series in row for referee's assistant Ainsley Rochard of Trinidad & Tobago! Both teams had Yellow card warned players but everyone was well behaved this game and the referee only gave out one tonight and that was to Chivas Isaac Brizuela who did not have a previous Yellow. Chivas defenders Jair Pereira and Edwin Hernandez, regular goalie Rodolfo Cota were all missing from this game for suspensions. I almost expected to see some of their 'three digit' players—guys with numbers in the hundreds but for this game they were wearing more of what we're used to—but unused midfield sub Fernando Beltran wore '23' instead of '288' and forward Jose Macias who did get into the game wore '18' not '292'. Chris Mavinga returned as a defender for TFC after missing games through injury but he only last one half before Eriq Zavaleta replaced him. Winger Justin Morrow who had also been out with injuries was a 66 minute substitute. He replaced Canadian starter Ashton Morgan leaving Osorio as the only Canadian on the field. Forwards Tosaint Ricketts and Jordan Hamilton were the Canadians who stayed on the bench. I didn't like the Chivas uniforms because they had navy numbers written directly on their red and white striped back rather than being written on a solid coloured box and then on their backs. I cound't read them so was watching for shoe colours. TFC gave up a goal in the second minute on the weekend in league play as well against Colorado but that was a team made of benchwarmers and USL callups. They made themselves known early when the visitors scored one minute into the game. Jonathan Osorio's goal means he has scored in every round of the CCL Championship. The winning Chivas goal was from a freekick and at a tougher angle then Giovinco's usual Goal of the Week winners. I didn't know if Jozy Altidore was sick or injured when I saw him limping then he shook it off later and had two great chances that had the goalie make two point blank saves. The guy in front of me says he was squating and throwing up. Yes the papers did say that's what he was doing which happened when TFC played in the series against Colorado. All the media sources that I saw listed TFC as strong favourites to win this series. Since they had beaten 'stronger and better' teams from Mexico in the last two rounds I could see where they would get that idea. Not much mention was given to the fact that Guadalajara had beaten MLS teams Seattle then New York Red Bulls to get this far. The result means TFC has a tough task ahead as not only have they lost this game but they have allowed Chivas to score two away goals which could be a tiebreaker. They will now have to win in Mexico next Wednesday and score at least two goals. My camera wouldn't work tonight with some kind of memory card error. I used my cell phone but my pictures are poor quality. I now put a spare memory card along with the spare battery I always carry so it won't happen again.
