Know your opponent: Louisville City FC September 21, 2017 3:11PM EDT Adam Krueger TFC2.ca Toronto FC II returns home to take on the East-leading Louisville City FC on Wednesday night at the Ontario Soccer Centre. To get you set here is everything you need to know about Lou City. 2017 Season: Louisville has enjoyed a successful 2017 campaign as City FC sits six points clear at the top of the East. Lou City has clinched a playoff berth for the second consecutive season and is just two points behind the Real Monarchs for the top spot in the USL. 16-5-6 through 27 games with a positive 25-goal differential, it has been a season to remember in Kentucky. Current Form: WDWWL Win vs. Rochester Rhinos (2-1) Draw vs. Bethlehem Steel FC (2-2) Win at Pittsburgh Riverhounds (3-0) Win vs. Charleston Independence (1-0) Loss vs. Orlando City B (3-0) Last time we met: The two clubs played to a 0-0 draw at Slugger Stadium in late April. All-time Lou City holds a 4-0-1 advantage over the Young Reds in USL play. Key Player: Oscar Jimenez Jimenez leads the USL in chances created with 66 this season. The 27-year-old is having a breakout year in Louisville. Following a four-year collegiate career at Western Washington, Jimenez bounced around playing for the Tulsa Roughnecks and the Mississippi Brilla (PDL) before signing with Louisville this February after a tryout. On top of his chances created, Jimenez has recorded five assists and three goals thus far. Unsung Hero: Sean Totsch Totsch leads Louisville in total passes with 1277 and has completed them at an 80% clip in his 25 appearances this season. Totsch is in his first season with Louisville after spending the last two seasons in Rochester with the Rhinos. The defender plays on the right side of the Louisville back three. The former NIU Huskie has registered one goal and one assist this year. Canadian Content The lone Canadian on Lou City’s roster is Mark-Anthony Kaye. The former Young Red has spent the last two seasons with Louisville after spending 2015 in Toronto. The former TFC Academy player has appeared in 15 games for Louisville scoring three times and assisting once. Kaye made his full international debut for Canada this year during a friendly against Curacao. Kaye was then named to Canada’s roster for the 2017 Gold Cup. Projected lineup James O'Connor has trotted his team out in a 3-4-2-1 formation this season. Louisville is in Ottawa this Sunday before traveling to Toronto for the Wednesday night’s clash so there could be some squad rotation. Tickets for Wednesday’s match are still available here. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM at the OSC. A reminder to all fans that TFC II is teaming up with Trento Kia to help with their drive change soccer equipment drive. Fans are encouraged to bring lightly used soccer equipment to the match so more kids who want to play soccer are able to do so. As added incentive, the first 50 fans to donate a piece of equipment will gain access to a post game on field meet and greet with TFC II players.
