MATCH PREVIEW: Islanders Face Toronto FC II at FNB Field, Saturday, Sept. 16
Posted on September 15, 2017

The Harrisburg City Islanders are currently on a two-game unbeaten streak and look to continue their scoring
with a match at FNB Field against Toronto FC II on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.

Harrisburg let three points slip away in their last home match when they gave up a 96th-minute goal
to former Islander Jimmy McLaughlin for a 1-1 draw.

For the Islanders, this was the third straight game they were able to get on the board after going
goalless in their previous six.

Pedro Ribeiro has been solid in his play including one game-winning goal and an assist on another during
this stretch of games. Ribeiro also played a key role in the Islanders goal against FC Cincinnati.

During recent play, Harrisburg has seen some solid goalie play. Sean Lewis’ save against Saint Louis FC
won the goalkeeper USL Save of the Week in week 25 and Brandon Miller was vital in Harrisburg’s point
in their match against Cincinnati.

The defense has been improving as well. Tiago Calvano, Lee Nishanian, and McLaws, among others,
have been a brick wall at times when it seemed like the opponent is just constantly attacking.

Harrisburg and Toronto last met in Canada in a thrilling 4-3 Islanders win. Jake Bond, Pedro Ribeiro,
and Paul Wilson tallied goals for the Islanders and Toronto gave up the fourth on an own goal.
Toronto almost completed a two-goal comeback but fell just short of saving a point at home.

Toronto has only won twice on the road this season and is currently on a three-game winless streak.
Toronto is led in scoring by Jordan Hamilton who has five goals on the season.

Harrisburg will be hosting their popular Star Wars Night for the second year in a row. The team will
sport exclusive Stormtrooper jerseys provided by Lucasfilm Ltd., which will be auctioned off after
the match to benefit the Four Diamonds Foundation. The first 1,000 fans will receive a City Islanders
coin pouch courtesy of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and all fans to wear a Star Wars
costume will receive a $5 merchandise voucher.

Harrisburg stays at home for a matchup with another Canadian soccer club when Ottawa Fury FC comes
to town on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
