Rhinos Jump into Top 4 with 1-0 Win Over Toronto FC II By Rochester Rhinos, 09/02/17, 10:00PM EDT Jalen Brown nets his first professional goal in the 10th minute. The Rhinos continued their strong 2017 season with a 1-0 win on the road over Toronto FC II to jump into the top four* in the Eastern Conference. The Rhinos improve to 11-5-8 (41 points) on the season, level on points with third-place Charleston Battery with two matches in hand. Only Louisville City FC and Charlotte Independence (47 points each) have fared better this season. Toronto stays in last place in the Eastern Conference and falls to 5-15-7 (22 points). Jalen Brown scored the winner in the 10th minute of the match after hitting the post with his initial shot off a Ryan James shot. He toe-poked home the rebound and that was enough for Rochester to get all three points. Tomas Gomez made one save and earned his 9th clean sheet of the season, just one behind Diego Restrepo of San Antonio FC for the USL lead. In the 34th minute of a first half which Rochester dominated in shots 12-2, Ryan James collected the ball at the top of the box and his shot rattled the crossbar after TFC II goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo got his fingertips on it. The closest the Rhinos would come to doubling the lead came in the 55th minute as Wal Fall collected a loose ball, dribbled through several defenders and around the goalkeeper - only to be denied by a sliding Julian Dunn. Wal Fall picked up a yellow card in the 92nd minute and will be suspended for the upcoming match against the Ottawa Fury due to yellow card accumulation. Rhinos captain Kenardo Forbes enjoyed a successful night back from his three-match suspension, creating two chances, making three interceptions, and connecting on 86% of his passes. The Rhinos return to Capelli Sport Stadium on Saturday, September 9th as they take on the Ottawa Fury on Mascot & Superhero Night presented by M&T Bank!
