Match Recap: Toronto FC II vs. Rochester Rhinos September 2, 2017 9:56PM EDT Adam Krueger Vaughan – Toronto FC II fell at the hands of the Rochester Rhinos by a final score of 1-0. The Rhinos struck inside the first 10 minutes after Jalen Brown fired a rocket off the post and picked up the rebound then slotted it home past Angelo Cavalluzzo. Cavalluzzo made an acrobatic stop on Canadian Ryan James to keep the Reds within striking distance just before the end of the first half. The Reds first opportunity of the second half came when the ball fell to Brian James but the midfielder had his shot blocked by a Rhinos’ defender. The Rhinos came close to doubling their lead when Wal Fall made his way into the box and danced around Cavalluzzo. However, defender Julian Dunn made a great diving block to stop a sure Rhino’s goal. TFC II was looking for a second consecutive late equalizer when they earned a corner deep into stoppage time. The ball made its way to Brandon Aubrey who got around the Rhinos’ keeper but his first touch was just a little long and it went out for a goal kick. Next up for TFC II is a game against the New York Red Bulls II next Saturday at 8:00 PM at BMO Field.
