The Rhinos came out the gates firing on all cylinders and were the better side for the first 45 minutes, outshooting Toronto 12-2. Toronto came out of the break with a slight edge and momentum, but the Rhinos exuded composure to secure the result, finishing the match with 18 total shots compared to Toronto’s five. •2. Toronto has been playing the role of spoiler as of late, but the Canadian club could not continue that run on Saturday. While the team is not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention in the Eastern Conference, the club’s chances of making it are now slim to none. With five games remaining in its regular season, Toronto is set to compete against clubs that need results down the stretch, giving the players plenty of motivation to cause some trouble for opponents. •3. Julian Buescher, a former standout with K-W United FC in the Premier Development League and at Syracuse University, and goalkeeper Thomas Gomez turned in eye-opening shifts for Rochester on the evening. Buesher has been impressive since joining the Rhinos, creating multiple opportunities for the club moving forward, including tonight. Gomez recorded one save on the night but came off his line well on multiple occasions to secure the shutout. USLSoccer.com Man of the Match: Jalen Brown, Rochester Rhinos – The midfielder scored the game-winner and was active throughout the match.
