That was Toronto’s home opener and Rochester’s 2nd match of the season. Rochester took all three points on July 26th at Capelli Sport Stadium, winning 2-0. Goalkeeper Dan Lynd earned his first professional win, and the Rhinos enjoyed a man advantage for the final 64 minutes of the match. Last place Toronto FC II (5-14-7, 22 points) is coming off two thrilling contests. On Wednesday night, a Shaan Hundal goal in the 93rd minute salvaged a 1-1 draw against Saint Louis FC. Last Saturday, TFC II posted one of the biggest upsets in the entire USL this season, taking advantage of an Alex Martinez red card to defeat then-top dog Charlotte Independence 3-2. 3 goals in 7 minutes allowed Toronto to storm back from behind and give themselves at least a shouting chance at the playoffs. The Rhinos are coming off an important 2-1 win over Saint Louis FC to keep their hopes for a top-4 seed and a home playoff match alive. Rochester went down quickly on a 3rd-minute free kick from Ryan Howe before the tables turned a few minutes later as leading-scorer Seth Rudolph was sent off for handling the ball on the line. Wal Fall converted the penalty in the 7th-minute to level the match. Jochen Graf’s 55th-minute tap in off of Christiano Francois’ perfect delivery ensured the Rhinos would take home all 3 points.
