Saint Louis FC Draws 1-1 at Toronto FC II Posted: Aug 30, 2017 Toronto, Ont. – Saint Louis FC drew 1-1 with Toronto FC II in front of 647 at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Week 24 of the USL Regular Season. Saint Louis FC opened the scoring in the 39th minute through Christian Volesky but Toronto FC II was able to equalize in the 93rd minute through Shaan Hundal. The draw moves Saint Louis FC to 30 points on the season and keeps them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. The first half saw Saint Louis control the game with over 58% of the possession. The first chance arrived in the 15th minute as Sebastian Dalgaard forced a diving save from Toronto goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo. Toronto’s best chance of the evening came in the 24th minute as Jordan Hamilton had his shot blocked on the goal line by STLFC captain Ivan Mirkovic to keep it 0-0. Saint Louis FC took the lead in the 39th minute after a great passing move which culminated in Austin Ledbetter putting a through ball behind the defense for Volesky to finish. Toronto came close to equalizing just before halftime as Malik Johnson had a shot from the top of the box that was well saved by STLFC goalkeeper Devala Gorrick. The second half saw Toronto grow into the game and Gorrick was forced into a great save from a Ryan Telfer effort in the 47th minute. Saint Louis FC sat back as they looked to see out the victory with some strong defensive work. However, it would prove futile as Toronto leveled the score in stoppage time as substitute Hundal fired into the roof of the net to steal the point.
