Match Recap: Toronto FC II vs. Saint Louis FC August 30, 2017 10:17PM EDT Adam Krueger On a just plain beautiful night for soccer at the Ontario Soccer Centre, Toronto FC II battled back to steal a late point in a 1-1 draw with Saint Louis FC. The Young Reds came within inches of striking first when off a Tsubasa Endoh corner the ball made its way to the red hot Jordan Hamilton. However, a perfectly positioned Ivan Mirkovic cleared Hamilton’s blast off the line. Saint Louis opened the scoring with a 39th-minute strike from Christian Volesky. It was the forward’s first goal since June 2, where he scored against TFC II in Saint Louis. Saint Louis FC ‘keeper Devala Gorrick made a pair of tremendous stops to keep the Reds off the board early in the second half and the Reds continued to press hard for the equalizer. They finally broke through on a stoppage time strike from substitute Shaan Hundal. Hundal was barely on for 5 minutes when Endoh sent in a cross that Hamilton chested down towards Hundal who then blasted home his second of the season to level the game. Toronto FC II return to action this Saturday as they take on the Rochester Rhinos at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM.
