By James Thomas, 08/09/17, 11:30AM EDT

The Charlotte Independence could tie a franchise record 12-game unbeaten streak on Wednesday night
when they travel to take on Toronto FC II.

Charlotte (N.C.) –The USL’s Eastern Conference first place team, Charlotte Independence hit the road
for the first of a two-game Canada road trip to take on Toronto FC II on Wednesday night.
The Independence are riding an 11-game unbeaten streak which includes eight wins that has propelled
the team from just outside the playoff picture to atop the table. Spurred on by USL’s second most
All-Time leading goal scorer Jorge Herrera and 2016 USL MVP Finalist Enzo Martinez, the Independence
offense has the most goals scored in the Eastern Conference. The Independence defense has held
firm as well, boasting the best goal differential in the Eastern Conference.

Most recently, the Independence beat third place Louisville City FC last Saturday night.
Enzo Martinez’s hat-trick (the second in franchise history) pushed the Independence well beyond
Louisville in front of a sold-out Sportsplex at Matthews crowd. The Independence have yet to lose
a game and have four wins since moving to their new home stadium on June 17th.

The Jacks now look to take on Toronto FC II, who sit on 17 point for the season. The Independence
have only ever matchup with the Canadian side four times in two years, and have never lost to Toronto.
In the last matchup with Toronto, the Independence buried five goals from five different players.

The Independence will be without Enzo Martinez due to the red card he was issued on two yellow cards
in the last match versus Louisville City FC. However, the Jacks will return defender Joel Johnson
from a one-game yellow card accumulation suspension.

The Independence and Toronto match will kickoff at 8:00 PM at BMO Field with the game being live
broadcast on charlotteindependence.com and the USL’s Match Center via YouTube.
