Match Recap: Toronto FC II vs. Orlando City B June 14, 2017 3:08PM EDT Adam Krueger Vaughan – On just a plain perfect afternoon for soccer the Young Reds picked up their first victory since March with a convincing 1-0 effort over Orlando City B. The Reds struck first courtesy of a Jordan Hamilton goal. The first team loanee chested down a cross from Ryan Telfer and calmly slotted home his first of the USL season. Liam Fraser almost scored a worldly strike just before the break. The midfielder rocketed a shot off the post from 40 yards out. The Lions came extremely close to equalising in the 50th minute. A recycled ball from a Lions’ corner found its way to Michael Cox who headed a looping ball towards the opposite post. Angelo Cavalluzzo punched the ball, but it landed on an OCB attackers foot. The attacker slides the ball towards the goal but Brandon Aubrey dove out to clear it off the line. Orlando pressed for the equaliser but Cavalluzzo and the backline held strong to hold on to the three points. “We are absolutely ecstatic today,” said head coach Jason Bent, “The boys have been putting in the work, we’ve been unlucky over some games." Captain Mitch Taintor reiterated the same. “It’s a really good win for the boys and our morale.” Toronto FC II will now take a well-deserved weekend off before returning to action next Saturday when they travel to Charleston, North Carolina to take on the first-place Battery.
