Game Preview: #TORvPGH By Riverhounds Staff, 06/08/17, 1:30PM EDT TORvPGH Game Notes 6/10/17 PITTSBURGH (June 8, 2017) – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (4-5-3) travel north of the border to face off against Toronto FC II (1-7-4) for the final time during the regular season at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Currently in the midst of a three-match winless streak in league play, the Hounds hope the Reds will have a cure for their current blues, as the club sits outside the Eastern Conference top-eight (ninth) for the first time since May 3. Pittsburgh has yet to lose to Toronto in six head-to-head meetings (5-0-1), including a 1-0 victory earlier this season at Highmark Stadium, which was part of a three-game winning streak. For Toronto, the B-side of its MLS counterpart currently sits last in the Eastern Conference and has scored only one goal in its past nine matches. The club has struggled mightily since starting the 2017 season off with a win, totaling three goals in 12 matches and has yet to tally more than one goal in a match this season. At home, Toronto is 0-2-2, most recently playing the Richmond Kickers to a 0-0 draw on May 24. Coming off a tough defeat at home to Orlando City B, 2-1, the Hounds enter the match with plenty to build upon. The offense registered season-highs in both shots (19) and shots on goal (9) in the contest, while Corey Hertzog snapped a four-game goalless streak with his sixth tally of the season. Pittsburgh will have to endure the injury bug though, as the club is expected to be again without key contributors in Kay Banjo, Abuchi Obinwa and Victor Souto.
