Toronto Corrals Point at City FC By CHARLIE CORR - charlie.corr@uslsoccer.com, 04/29/17, 9:45PM EDT Cavalluzzo helps TFC II draw with Louisville in front of 8,282 at Slugger LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC generated plenty of scoring chances, but the host side came away emptyhanded as it played to a scoreless draw against Toronto FC II on Saturday in front of a crowd of 8,282 at Slugger Field. Standing in the way of City FC was Toronto goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo who came up with 10 saves to earn the clean sheet. Tim Dobrowolski posted a shutout for Louisville. City FC had a chance to move up into the top spot in the Eastern Conference with the Charleston Battery drawing earlier against Ottawa Fury FC, but Louisville could only come up with a point as the team moves to 3-0-3 (12 points). City FC is still the only East team without a loss. Toronto has now posted three consecutive 0-0 draws as it moved to 1-2-3 (6 points). TFC II picked up its first point against Louisville as City FC is now 4-0-1 all-time against Toronto. Scoring: None Three Things That Mattered: •1. It was a match completely fixated on the defenses, but more so for Toronto, which had to withstand a number of spells throughout Saturday’s game. TFC II goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo had to step up in some big moments, and he wound up with 10 saves to help preserve the clean sheet. His counterpart, Louisville’s Tim Dobrowolski, had three saves, with much of his duties coming in the final 10 minutes as Toronto’s attack stepped up down the stretch. Perhaps the most impressive stop of the night came in the 52nd minute when City FC crossed the ball in from the right to Luke Spencer. Spencer put a toe on the ball and it looked destined for the left side of the frame. Cavalluzzo sprawled to his right to get a glove on the shot to keep Louisville off the score sheet. •2. Louisville out-shot Toronto 19-8 and held 59 percent of the possession. City FC also generated 10 corner kicks. While it did not result in a win, Louisville still has its unbeaten streak going. City FC is in the midst of an 11-game unbeaten streak (7-0-4) dating back to the 2016 regular season. •3. In the big picture of things, Toronto should take some satisfaction from coming away with a road point. Louisville held the brunt of the attacking categories, but where it mattered most was the final score. Toronto should, however, be concerned by the lack of offense thus far this season. Some set-piece chances were there for the taking, but the pressure did not test the goal all that often until the closing minutes. In six matches, TFC II’s attack has generated just two goals. Jordan Hamilton had one of the better chances in the run of play in the 83rd minute, but he was turned away at the near left post.
