Orlando City heads into the match following consecutive defeats to open up their 2017 campaign. They lost on opening night to the aforementioned Rowdies, before falling to Louisville City in their home opener last Thursday. Last season the Reds and Lions split the season series one game apiece, with each club winning its home affair. Orlando City effectively ended the Reds playoff aspirations with a crushing stoppage time goal in August. However, the Reds would have the last laugh as they defeated the Lions 2-1 in their home finale. Expect captain Mitch Taintor to make his season debut in the match following the completion of his suspension. Defender Lars Eckenrode will miss the match after leaving Saturday’s game with an injury. Players to Watch: Michael Cox: The native of Calgary was the leading scorer for Orlando City last season. Cox netted 11 goals (8th in the USL) in 28 appearances. The 24-year-old scored in both games against TFC II last season. The forward spent time with both FC Edmonton and KuPS in Finland before heading to York University and eventually signing with OCB. Conor Donovan: The 22nd selection in the 2015 MLS Superdraft spent the majority of last season on loan with OCB. The defender appeared in 15 matches, registering one goal. He also made his MLS debut in August, but tore his ACL just 10 minutes in. The former US U-20 player is now on the road to recovery and has made two consecutive starts for the Lions.
