at BMO Field in Toronto (by Rocket Robin)

Jamaican head coach Theodore Whitmore at post game press conference. MP3 File...Theodore Whitmore reviews the game and answers questions (3 minutes 56 seconds) He apoligizes for the poor performance (of his team), he calls it 'embarrassing'. answers why he changed goalies, didn't see what happened with Red card, why the slow start, what he said at halftime to his players, I get in a question about whether he will stay on a second stint as head coach
Canadian head coach Octavio Zambrano at post game press conference. MP3 File...Octavio Zambrano reviews game and answers questions (19 minutes 7 seconds) Felt 2-0 score was just the 'rightest' score, we had a few lapses, liked our intensity, first 44 minutes the right intensity then lapsed, untimely dismissal, some good moments; Anthony Jackson-Hamel? one of our best players at camp, he is a very good finisher, a tremendous future, one of the coolest guys in front of goal, calm and collected Osorio? played very well, more of a two way player, had a conversation with him during the Gold Cup, a 'link' player, hope he keeps on working on that; Red card? I haven't seen it so no comment, ADs reaction looks like he's guilty; Gold Cup vs now? also why Ricketts not into game until so late? game dictated late because of dismissal, not a home town decision, all the TFC players time is based on performance, we are trying to play consistantly good football, we are not there yet, pleasing fluidity but we make mistakes, some new guys change us from clicking, style of play promissing except for some lapses; Davies red card? repentent and embarrassed, he's a young guy, we have to be patient, I stand by him, a great human being, he'll be OK; Piette? he does a lot for us, he's the balance that we need, he can quickly acsess the situation, he's a good passer and a good link, he knows where to be, important to know where to be when there's a breakdown; Hoilett? his best game, man of the match! an elite level/type of player, he is now diversirfying his game by our request so he's less predictible, a dynamic player, the kind of play that we want; Next game in Vancouver? we're arranging games, enjoyed watching League 1 Ontario Cup Final and invited some of those guys to play as squad players at our training camp, expects to do the same in other parts of our vast country, tourney of CPL is an important pillar of development, the CPL is massively important, a game against El Salvador has been confirmed will be played in the United States--but now mostly not it Houston [because of flooding], (apologizes when CSA's Carrie Croft cuts in to say not confirmed yet); when we felt comfortable in this game? from the beginning! we controlled the game and created the opportunities, would have like to have scored a third goal, the stats showed we controlled the Gold Cup game too, these stats should be similar; Fan support in Toronto? great, what the national team needs, give them a good show and they will come back, we are always looking for players, we need depth in center back for example, we are looking at options, looking to add players from Europe that will immediately upgrade team; how far are we from Mexico and other hex teams? not that far, we need to face these teams more often, in their home fields, also to South America, then we will be ready for World Cup, with these European players, we are on the right track. Hallway interviews:
Atiba Hutchinson MP3 File...Atiba Hutchinson answers reporters questions (1 minute 17 seconds) it's always nice coming to Toronto, Red card? Jonathan Osorio MP3 File...Jonathan Osorio answers reporters questions (3 minutes 9 seconds) importance of this result? we though we deserved more in the Gold Cup, revenge! important to win in our home field, we owed it to our fans; your goal? not a lucky bounce, he knew I was there, my job was easy, my teammates found me; looked like a special moment? my first goal for the national team at BMO my home!, I've played here a long time, I saw a lot of fans in the stands I knew so it was extra special, this year all the talk about my TFC minutes went out the window, my teammates know my ability, I'm more happy the team put in a great performance; Zambrano talked about your role? yeah a little bit different role but not that dfferent, never really played #10 mostly I'm #8 role, one year as #10 in TFC diamond but didn't last long, happy to be #8 as I can help win the ball back, I'm looking to improve and I feel I'm doing well.
Samuel Piette MP3 File...Samuel Piette answers reporters questions (1 minutes 33 seconds) first half pretty slow, hard to hold the ball, we controlled the ball from minute one; Good night for Montreal guys? Anthony Jackson Hamel really happy, successful; You playing in middle of park? yes very good, Osorio is one of my best friends, we're very different players so complementary on the pitch, makes my job easier; Weird that two Montreal players set up a Toronto player? yes but it was the national team, we played against each other one week ago, doesn't matter who scored.
Anthony Jackson-Hamel MP3 File...Anthony Jackson-Hamel (3 minutes 39 seconds) happy to score and assist? yes whisper; like Zambrano's style? yes, then answer in French; the Osorio play? strange to play against him then be his teammate? a case for playing more minutes for your club/Montreal? of course! another French question? bright future for Canada? yes do you like Toronto? hard to say I 'like' Toronto but tonight I do!
