Aurora United FC men kept the clean sheet and won 1-0 over Master's FA Saints
courtesy of a Simon Adjei (76') penalty late in the contest.

"We just wanted our first win, whether it came off a shin, off someone's back,
a knee, whatever way we could get that win," said Aurora head coach,
Jimmy Brennan. "Today we got a penalty and it was justly deserved."

"I don't think there was a turning point in the match today, I think overall
it was just a very good performance by the boys today," he added.
"They worked very hard."

Coming off a high after beating top-ranked Sigma FC in the L1 Cup first round,
Master's were looking to extend their form. However difficulty with selection
provided some hurdles in pre-match prep.

"We didn't have the personnel today due to work constraints, and not having
the players that you've been training with is disappointing," said Master's
technical director, Junior Groves.

"We are getting better with the personnel that we have, and it is encouraging
to note that when some of the ones we are prepping come back in we'll be that
much better. I walk away today with mixed feelings."

After a difficult run of four away fixtures to start the season, and
succumbing late in their first home match to east division leaders
Woodbridge Strikers, Aurora were eager to prove a point in the league.

"We got the monkey off our back," said Brennan. "We've been working hard,
and we knew it was going to come, but we didn't think it would take that long.
The guys are happy with the performance."

"I thought we were organized tonight, we worked well, created a number
of chances," he said.

"Masters are a good team and play the game the right way. I thought overall
it was a good game and happy we came out with a win tonight.

With the win, Aurora spring off the base of the east division standings
and go level with Masters on points in sixth position.

The black and amber clad Aurora will stay at home at Sheppard's Bush and
take on last-place Toronto Skillz on June 11 (7 p.m.).

Masters hit the road again in matchweek seven, travelling to McNaughton Turf,
Vaughan to take on an undefeated Vaughan Azzurri on June 11 (2 p.m.).

"I thought the players that we played today did a good job, but we needed
to take the chances we had early in the match and put it away,"
concluded Groves.

"You have to take the game whatever way it is managed and find a way
to win it. We'll be back."
