North Miss built on some impressive form of late by beating Toronto Skillz 3-0
on Thursday night. Daniel Gosciniak earned the clean sheet.

"I think this was probably one of the most complete games of the season,"
said North Miss head coach, Rick Titus. "Obviously we’ve had to work on emotion,
including myself. Because as a coach you want to make sure that you are guiding
a team and guiding them in the proper way and you have to be that example
if that’s what you’re looking for."

"For some players [the emotion] can be difficult to break because its
something they are so used too but on a whole we have tried to build
a positive team energy and one that promotes good football. That’s what
you saw tonight."

Lee-Victor Massunda (1') and Jose De Sousa (42') put the home side up early,
with Antoine Paul (58') making the mountain too big to climb for Skillz with
a third just before the hour mark.

“It was tough because we go through a lot of tactical stuff in practice
and 30 seconds into the game, you give up a goal," said Toronto Skillz
head coach Leslie "Tiger" Fitzpatrick. "They just aren’t following the
tactical game plan."

"It has been two or three games in a row now where that has happened and
so it makes you question why we emphasize that stuff if its not going
to translate onto the field. It’s a little disappointing, no a lot
disappointing; that we aren’t able to follow through with what we work
so hard on in practice."

North Miss is now unbeaten in five matches, including three wins and
an important draw against top four side Vaughan Azzurri. The win puts
North Miss on thirteen points, currently in fourth position in the
west division.

"When you’re looking to build a team, there’s always going to be pieces
you’ll want to build over time," said Titus. "Like the mid-field's
connection to the offence and the offences connection to the striker
but I felt like we finally got that connection working."

"The last few games you could see it finally coming around and this
game was a culmination of all that work."

North Mississauga's next match is away at Vaughan Grove on July 3 (7 p.m.)
against east division leaders, Woodbridge Strikers.

Still hunting for their first league win after nine matches,
Toronto Skillz play again on July 4 (8 p.m.) against Sanjaxx Lions
at Birchmount Stadium, Scarborough.

"There are some individuals who do give you that glimmer of hope
and the reason you keep going is them," said Fitzpatrick.
"Especially tonight we started to bring in some of our academy players."

"We had a 2001 born player who went out and showed he can handle
these games. We had a striker who is 1999 and he showed that
he could also do it. So at this point you just start to build
for the future and build from within."
