Third place west division team Windsor Stars made up valuable ground
on second place FC London after posting a 5-0 win over east division
visitors Toronto Skillz on Friday night.

Left back Marco Bernabo (16') put the home team on the sheet early,
before turning provider and setting up central forward
Jumbo Iyowuna (32') with a nice cross for the second in the
first half.

Toronto Skillz had an opportunity to pull one back after penalty
called on the Stars Jamar Kelly, but could not find a finish
from the spot.

The Stars, smelling blood, made sure there would be no doubt
of the victor as Mike Pio (82', 90') came off the bench and
added a brace in the second half, and Jack Sargeant (90+1')
finished it off in extra time.

Kyle Vizarakis would claim the clean sheet, and Windsor would
move within five points of London in second spot.

"I think we are starting to put things together," said Windsor
head coach, Dave Rimbert. "It still needs to be a little sharper,
a little quicker, but I think what is happening is that the
boys are starting to gel."

"I think they are starting to understand that multiple people
are going to get into the game, multiple people can do the job,
and there is competition at practice. The boys came to play
and you could see they wanted to finish the other team off,
and they did."

Toronto Skillz head coach Leslie "Tiger" Fitzpatrick was
disappointed with the loss to the Stars, a team the Skillz
had previously beaten in the first round of the L1 Cup.

"We had some chances and missed them, and then gave up some
weak goals after pushing to get a goal," he said.
"There is nothing really to say about the result other than
it is disappointing again, we have a lot to work on, and the
attitude has to change. We need to find a way to grind out
results to get some positive change."

"We have a young team and they have a lot to learn, and our
keeper made some good saves today," he added. "But we'll
take the lumps and try and learn from it."
