Kingston's Eric Koskins (61') got the winner for the Clippers over
visitors Toronto Skillz in matchweek six, putting the eastern Ontario
club into third place in the east division.

"I think the mood around the dressing room and in the club right
now is that Kingston is becoming a very difficult place to come
play, and get points from the Clippers," said Koskins.

"I think that has to do a lot with the atmosphere around the club
from the top down. The work-rate and intensity in training is also
translating to the matches."

A tight and technical first half between the two teams was fought
mainly in the midfield as neither side could find an opening
in the other's defence.

Both teams would have near misses in the early going of the
second half.

"To be fair to the boys it was three games in a week and we looked
like we had weary heads and couldn't get that clinical touch
in front of goal," said Leslie "Tiger" Fitzpatrick. "But these
are the games you have to power through."

"We are creating the chances, which is the story of the season
thus far, but we just don't have that killer instinct in front
of the net at the moment to put teams away. And today, another
set piece was our downfall once again."

A Kingston corner kick went flashing past the fingers of TSkillz
keeper Shanmugaratnam, but just inches wide of the post.
Minutes later, Kingston's Borges successfully blocked
Toronto Skillz academy's Fathazada as he shot from mere yards
away from the net.

Koskins got the breakthrough just after the hour, rising first
to meet a Kingston corner kick on the head and give
Shanmugaratnam no chance.

The Clippers showed the same level of hard work, defensive
organization, and resolve demonstrated in previous weeks
to close out the remainder of the match and keep the three
points in Kingston.

"We've tried to make Kingston a hard place to come over the
past three years, and now we need to take this form from home
on the road," said Kingston technical director, Chris Eveleigh.

"I think today's game signifies the group of lads we have here
working together. It was a 1-0 win where everyone worked
as hard as they could to get the win."
