Attendance was about 60 on this hot and humid evening with Toronto going through a never ending heat wave. The sun was below the horizon by the start of the game and the temperature finally cooled off by the second half.

Referee Niquita Amirkhanian called a water break in each half. She awarded two Penalty kicks to DUFA but sent one of their players off with a direct Red card at 70 minutes with DUFA holding a slim one-goal lead. She also gave out three Yellow cards that I counted—two to Pro Stars.

DUFA's defence of Justin Gordon, Taejon Mikle, Jordan Dover, and Bruce Cullen held together well. They were getting by tonight without their injured captain Taylor Lord.

Erick Olazabal looked the best player on Pro Stars setting up plays and taking the most dangerous set pieces. He was the first captain of TFC Academy when they started playing in the CSL in 2008. He's still playing with his twin brother Eros--then and now!

Best non-scoring chances were at 18 minutes when DUFA Bruce Cullen took a 35 yard freekick from the right that had the goalie stop at 4 yards and the ball popped up and DUFA Joseph Roccasalva got a 10 yard header that the goalie saved. 53 minutes had DUFA captain Kashif De Jonge run down the left wing and blast a 20 yarder that the sprawling goalie palmed over the net. 59 minutes had DUFA Shaq Agard get a pass from the right from DUFA Joseph Roccasalva and his 18 yard shot was stopped point blank at 8 yards by the sliding goalie. 69 minutes had Cullen pass from 25 yards and Roccasalva all alone in middle was not called offside and he booted a 10 yard shot wide right of the post.

Although I'd seen two Durham United home games this season at the indoor Pickering Soccer Centre, tonight it was the first time I'd been to Kinsmen Park. I remembered to bring mosquito spray this year. Balls that flew too far over the south sideline ended up a swamp. I was on the south side so was at the wrong angle to see the scoreboard but it didn't matter much as it fizzled out by 13 minutes. All times are converted from my wristwatch.

Durham United's record improves to 9 wins, 3 losses, 2 ties for 29 points and a stronger position in third place in the Eastern Conference.

Pro Stars' record falls to 2 wins, 10 ties, 3 losses for 9 points and are tied with Sanjaxx Lions for seventh in the eight team Western Conference.
