Match Preview: TFC II vs. Rochester Rhinos The squad travels to Rochester to take on the best team in the USL September 11, 2015 Anthony Campos torontofc.ca Toronto FC II continue their 4-game road swing against the best team in the USL, the Rochester Rhinos, this Saturday at 7:05PM ET. The young Reds are coming off a 4-1 loss against the Charlotte Independence on Wednesday. Raheem Edwards had the lone goal in the loss at Ramblewood Stadium. TFC II will look to finish off the season strong after falling out of playoff contention a few weeks ago. The Opposition The Rochester Rhinos have already earned the 2015 USL Regular Season Championship with two matches remaining in the season. The team has been undefeated at home and has only lost one match all season – a 4-2 defeat against the Charlotte Independence. Although first in the USL, they haven’t exactly lit up the score sheet. The team has scored only 34 goals, the fifth lowest in the Eastern Conference. Where Rochester excels is on the defensive side of the ball. The Rhinos have allowed only 12 goals in the 25 matches they have played so far this season. To put things into perspective, the team with the second least goals allowed in the East is the Charleston Battery with 27, more than double the amount that Rochester has allowed. Moreover, goalkeeper Brandon Miller set the USL single season shutout record with his 12th against the Richmond Kickers last weekend. The Rhinos are riding a six-game undefeated streak and have shutout their last three opponents. Players to Watch Steevan “Duba” Humberto Fortes dos Santos leads the team with eight goals in 19 matches. Dos Santos had the opener in Rochester’s 2-0 victory over TFC II in their most recent meeting on July 11th. Onua Obasi caused TFC II all kinds of problems down the left flank in the aforementioned match and assisted on both goals in Rochester’s win. TFC II takes on the Rochester Rhinos this Saturday, September 12th at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester at 7:05PM ET.
