Islanders Notch Shutout Win Against TFC II Posted on August 20, 2015 USL Game Report WOODBRIDGE, Ontario (Wednesday, August 19, 2015) – The Harrisburg City Islanders posted a key 2-0 victory against Toronto FC II on Wednesday at the Ontario Soccer Centre to help its push toward a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Craig Foster scored a first-half tally and Brett Jankouskas contributed a goal in the second half as Harrisburg maintained its seventh-place position in the East standings but is now only one point behind the sixth-place Pittsburgh Riverhounds with a game in hand. Harrisburg moved to 9-8-4 (31 points) on the season while Toronto FC II fell to 5-13-3 (18 points). Foster put the visiting City Islanders on the scoresheet in the 26th minute, sliding onto a cross from the right side at the edge of the six-yard box to put his side up 1-0. In the 50th minute, Jankouskas added to Harrisburg’s lead with a strike into the upper right corner of the frame for a two-goal cushion. TFC II has yet to post back-to-back victories this season, and the opportunity eluded the host team again. Toronto had some close chances toward the end of the match, including a Mo Babouli free kick that clipped the left post, followed by a Skylar Thomas header that rose over the bar in the final 10 minutes. Harrisburg has seven regular-season games remaining to try and establish a postseason spot, and the club has a difficult test on Saturday when it visits the East-leading Rochester Rhinos at Sahlen’s Stadium.
