Kickers Visit Toronto To Conclude Road Trip Release: 08/13/2015 Richmond Kickers News Release - www.richmondkickers.com Thursday, August 13, 2015 RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Kickers conclude a three-game road trip this Saturday afternoon when they take on Toronto FC II. The match will be streamed live from Ontario Soccer Centre on YouTube.com/RichmondKickers at 3 p.m. ET. The Kickers face expansion side Toronto FC II for the first time in club history as Toronto made its USL debut in 2015 as one of the eight MLS-owned and operated clubs. An official affiliate of Toronto FC of Major League Soccer, the Toronto FC II roster is comprised of USL players, MLS loan players and Toronto FC Academy players. With a 4-12-3 record in its inaugural season, Toronto FC II most recently dropped three points to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds last Saturday in a 3-1 defeat. The Riverhounds grabbed an early lead but Toronto nearly equalized minutes later, only for Molham Babouli’s header to glance just wide. Pittsburgh doubled its lead before the half hour mark and added a third tally after the break but Raheem Edwards pulled a goal back late in the second half to avoid the shutout. Meanwhile, the Kickers survived a grueling back-to-back schedule that pitted them again the Harrisburg City Islanders and Rochester Rhinos. After conceding three goals to the City Islanders inside the first hour, the Kickers rallied back when Jason Yeisley converted a pair of penalty kicks. With a reenergized offense, the Kickers pressed for the equalizer but could not overcome the early deficit and fell 3-2. Continuing north, the Kickers battled league-leading Rochester to a 1-1 draw at Sahlen’s Stadium. The Rhinos claimed a second-half advantage that was quickly annulled by an own goal as the Kickers defense held their formidable rivals to salvage the tie. Following Saturday’s road trip, the Kickers return to City Stadium to host Family Fest and the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday, August 22. Admission is $20 for the whole family before 6:30 p.m. and tickets are on sale now at RichmondKickers.com. The Kickers close out the 2015 USL regular season schedule with the second leg of the two-game series with Toronto FC II at City Stadium on Saturday, September 16.
