Match Preview: Toronto FC II v Lou City July 30, 2015 Louisville City Eyes a Perfect Road Swing, Sixth Straight Win Louisville, KY (July 28, 2015) – In three straight home matches Louisville City FC (10-3-5, 35 Points) had taken all nine points. In front of them were three in a row on the road, an experience that had caused the team trouble so far this season. With just one win in six tries, away matches had not been friendly to the USL newcomers. Now after wins over Pittsburgh and Wilmington the boys in purple have a shot at three straight road victories when they take on Toronto FC II (4-9-3, 15 points) at 3PM on Saturday at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Saturday will be the second meeting of the season between the two clubs. The first came back on May 16th was askew as City came away with a 4-0 victory. With goals from Kadeem Dacres, Matt Fondy and Conor Shanosky, Louisville took a 3-0 lead into the break. Matt Fondy would add his second goal of the night in the final 45 minutes to complete the scoring. Louisville is looking to build on their five game winning streak and complete the season sweep of Toronto FC II. City is coming off of an impressive 3-1 victory on the road against the Wilmington Hammerheads FC. After falling behind 1-0, Enrique Montano connected with Matt Fondy on a corner in the 45th minute right before going into the half. The late goal seemed to be the motivator as right out of the gate in the second half, Charlie Adams found Conor Shanosky, who flicked in the go-ahead goal on a set piece in the 52nd minute. Adams, himself, got on the scoresheet in the 57th minute by slamming one in the top right corner after receiving a pass from Niall McCabe. Toronto is coming off of their fourth win of the season to the Charleston Battery. The 1-0 victory came in stunning fashion with the Reds scoring in the 89th minute. Molham Babouli played a set piece into Skylar Thomas for the header. It was Thomas’ first goal of the season and gave them their first win against a team with a winning record. The victory also kept Charleston stagnant in the standings and allowed Louisville to take over second place. TFCII also played a friendly on Tuesday versus AS Roma Primavera. The USL club led 2-1 late but allowed a goal in the 85th minute to level the game at 2-2. In penalties, Toronto would fall to their Italian counterparts 5-3. Saturday’s match will be live streamed on YouTube and will conclude the road trip for Louisville City FC. Louisville will return home to Slugger Field on Wednesday August 5th against FC Montreal.
