Toronto FC II travel to Stade Saputo on Wednesday to take on bitter rivals FC Montreal
in an early afternoon clash.

The young Reds finished up their 8-game home stand on Saturday losing 3-1 to the
Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

The team struggled over the eight matches, recording two wins and managing only
five goals during that stretch.

TFC II holds a record of 4-11-3, 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The Opposition

FC Montreal has been one of the hottest teams in the USL over the last few weeks.

They have recorded five wins in their last seven matches, scoring 17 goals and
collecting three shutouts during that span.

Montreal is coming off back-to-back road wins, beating second place in the
Eastern Conference Louisville City FC 4-0 followed by a 3-1 victory over
Saint Louis FC on Saturday.

They currently sit 6 points ahead of TFC II, 10th in the Eastern Conference.

The previous meeting between TFC II and FC Montreal was a heated affair
at the Ontario Soccer Centre that ended in a 1-0 win for the visitors.

Players to Watch

Alessandro Riggi is FC Montreal’s biggest offensive threat going into
Wednesday’s match.

The winger is currently leading the team in goals with seven.

Midfielder Zakaria Messoudi is also a player TFC II will keep close
tabs on.

Messoudi had an impressive game against the young Reds in their last
meeting and ended up scoring the game winner for Montreal.

TFC II Announce New Signing

Toronto FC II announced that the club has signed midfielder Bubacarr Jobe
to a USL contract.

“Bubacarr is an athletic midfielder that can aid our team both in attack
and defensive areas of the pitch,” said Toronto FC II Head Coach Jason Bent.

Jobe, 20, most recently spent time with the Austin Aztex of the Premier
Development League. He appeared in 12 matches, registering seven goals
and four assists.

Charpie Returns from Injury

Wesley Charpie returned to action on Saturday, coming off the bench
in the second half against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Charpie had a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury
and last made an appearance on June 27th against Wilmington Hammerheads
prior to Saturday.

“Personally I feel good. I got the time to look at the game from
a different perspective but it feels good to be back on the field,”
he said to media following the loss on the weekend.
