Toronto FC II is at BMO Field this Saturday to take on Wilmington Hammerheads FC at 8PM.

This Saturday marks the first of 8 home matches for TFC II. Their previous match was back
on June 6th, a 0-0 draw against the Harrisburg City Islanders.

The Opposition

Wilmington Hammerheads FC sit 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with a record
of 1-7-5 over 13 matches.

The Hammerheads are coming off a 0-0 draw on Saturday against the Richmond Kickers that was
cut short due to thunderstorms. The team travels to Stade Saputo to face FC Montreal
on Thursday before travelling to BMO Field to square off against the Reds.

Currently they are winless in their last 9 matches and will look to come out strong against
a TFC II team that sits just 1 point above them in the Eastern Conference standings.

Head Coach Jason Bent is looking forward to Saturday’s challenge.

They play a similar system to us. They’ve got a holding midfielder [Paul] Nicholson who has
a good range of passing. You’ve also got [Sunny] Jane, a former Maryland alumni, who’s
got a little bit of pace.”

“They are an organized and hard working team. I think they are better than their record
shows,” he added.

TFC II captain Chris Mannella stressed the importance of the team taking control
of the game at home.

“If we settle the game down, play our own style and manage the game the way we want
to then we will be successful.”

Homecoming for the Young Reds

After spending most of their season on the road, TFC II will begin an 8-match home
stretch starting this Saturday.

Head coach Jason Bent will look to impose a different style of play now that the team
is playing at home.

“Now we have to be the aggressor in terms of being the home team. It’s different when
you are in away matches.”

“We have to learn how to play at home, how to control games and create chances, and
be the aggressors,” he continued.

TFC II Players Named to Pan Am, Gold Cup Squads

Six Toronto FC II players were named to represent Canada at the 2015 Pan Am Games.
Manny Aparicio, Molham Babouli, Kevon Black, Adam Bouchard, Raheem Edwards and
Chris Mannella were all named to the U-23 squad.

TFC II goalkeeper Quillan Roberts was named to Canada’s 23-man roster for the
2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup by head coach Benito Floro.

“It’s always exciting to represent Canada, to represent our country,” said midfielder
Manny Aparicio regarding his selection to the Pan Am roster.

“I’m delighted for them. All of us in the club are always supporting Canadian football
and we want to give them as many opportunities and exposure as possible,” said TFC II
head coach Jason Bent on the selection of the players.
