Rhinos Travel to Toronto, Look to Stay Undefeated

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Rhinos travel to face Toronto FC II at BMO Field on Saturday, May 23rd 
with kickoff scheduled for 8:00pm. The two teams faced one another just two weeks ago on May 9th, 
during which Steevan “Duba” Humberto Fortes Dos Santos came on late in the 2nd half and provided 
a game winning stoppage time goal to lift the Rhinos to a 1:0 victory!

The Rochester Rhinos are coming up a 1:1 draw to the Wilmington Hammerheads in league play and a 1:0 
victory over Greater Binghamton FC in the 2nd Rd. of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. With the draw last 
weekend, the Rhinos kept their unbeaten run alive and remain at the top of the USL Eastern Conference 
with 21 points and a 6-0-3 record.

The Rochester Rhinos have kept their record clean thus far with a stingy defense and a high-pressure 
attack. The Rhinos have given up a league low four goals this season and rank second in the league 
in total shots on the season. The Rhinos attack has mustered 13 goals this season with Christian Volesky 
(4g), Alex Dixon (3g), Jonny Mendoza (2g), and Duba (2g) leading the attack. Brandon Miller, with the 
help of the defense, has posted 5-0-2 record this year and leads the league in Goals Against Average 
with a 0.46 GAA.  He has allowed only 3 goals in 585 minutes and has recorded three shutouts which 
is good for 2nd in the league.

Toronto FC II comes into the match with a 2-5-1 record with their last match in league play being 
a 4:0 defeat at the hands of Louisville City FC. The match on Saturday, May 23rd will be the TFCII’s 
home opener and will be featured after Toronto FC faces off with the Portland Timbers side. 
Toronto FC II is being lead on the offensive end by Molham Babouli (5pts.) and Jay Chapman (3pts.). 
Jordan Hamilton is another player to watch as he can be dangerous when the ball finds his feet. 
Alex Bono, the Syracuse University graduate, has played between the pipes for TFCII for the better 
part of the season. He has given up 13 goals in 6 games this year and has a Goals Against Average 
of 2.17. The team has given up a total of 19 goals this year and has been outshot by opponents 77:123.

The Rochester Rhinos look to continue their unbeaten streak on the road on Saturday, May 23rd as the 
travel to face Toronto FC II at BMO Field with an 8:00pm kickoff. The Rochester Rhinos used a stoppage 
time goal by Duba the last time the two teams met to land a 1:0 victory on May 9th.

Next up for the Rochester Rhinos is a Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup 3rd Round match against the 
Harrisburg City Islanders on May 27th in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Rochester Rhinos will then 
return home to Sahlen’s Stadium on Saturday, May 30th, to face FC Montreal at 7:05pm.
