Toronto FC II announces signing of four players Fabrizi, Mirabelli, Bouchard, and Serjeant sign USL contracts March 20, 2015 Toronto FC staff torontofc.ca Toronto FC II announced Friday that the club has signed defender Daniel Fabrizi, midfielders Massimo Mirabelli, Adam Bouchard, and Mark Serjeant, to USL contracts. As per club and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed. All players will be added to the roster upon receipt of their International Transfer Certificate (ITC). “All four players have shown great work ethic and potential while training on the pitch and in the gym,” said Toronto FC II Head Coach Jason Bent. “We are very excited to add them to our roster. We look forward to seeing their contribution to the club on and off the pitch.” Fabrizi, 23, originally joined the Kia Toronto FC Academy at the age of 16. Last season, Fabrizi played for York University, where he helped the Lions capture both the OUA and CIS championship. He also earned OUA West first-team all-star honours. Mirabelli, 23, spent the past two seasons with FC Edmonton of the North American Soccer League (NASL). He appeared in 27 matches, scoring two goals in all competitions. Prior to joining FC Edmonton, he spent the 2012 season in Finland playing for Ekenäs Idrottsförening. In 2010, at the age of 18, he made his debut in the Canadian youth program representing Canada at the 2011 CONCACAF U20 Championship in Guatemala. He appeared in two matches starting in one. Bouchard, 19, originally joined the Kia Toronto FC Academy in October 2014. Prior to joining the Academy, he spent time in Uruguay at Defensor Sporting Club U17 and U19 teams. Serjeant, 19, spent the past season at Grand Canyon University. He appeared in 19 matches, starting in ten and registered one assist. Toronto FC II will open its inaugural season on Saturday, March 21 against the Charleston Battery in Charleston at 7:30 p.m. The club will play its home opener at BMO Field on Saturday, May 23 against the Rochester Rhinos.
