Attendance was announced as 24895. Not bad for a midweek game. I saw lots of empty seats in the 222-224 sections under the press box so they probably counted tickets sold not who showed up. A later 8:00pm start I though would allow more people to get here but it just cut down on the number of children who were here. The game ended at almost 10:00pm and I didn't expect to be home until midnight. Fans were leaving even before the Penalty kick call. Also many arrived late and my row never completely filled in.

Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was announced as forward Sebastian Giovinco. Although he didn't score the most important goal-- their third goal and it was a Penalty kick--he was all over the park on runs, passes, and shots that I'd agree he was the best TFC player. He got an assist on the first TFC goal. He was bumped around but not as bad as Saturday's game against New York City FC. He showed he was human by hitting a post and shooting wide a few times.

I found it a surprise that Chris Konopka was the TFC goalie after seeing a tweet of Joe Bendik listed as a starter. Konopka made two key saves on Dominic Oduro to prevent a comeback.

TFC keeps ahead of Montreal who could have passed them in the standings with a win tonight. Impact are still strong contenders for a playoff spot as they have games in hand on every team in the league(being allowed to reschedule games early in the season when they were in the CONCACAF Championships).

TFC improves to 7 wins, 6 losses, 1 tie with most teams playing tonight so it's not sure if they move up from fourth place. The team looked much better than their Amway Canadian championship match when they won 3-2 but lost on the away goal rule. They had all their designated players Giovinco, Altidore, and Bradley playing up front and looked dangerous the whole game. Bradley was really moving playing a more forward and aggressive role than at the beginning of the season where he was more a holding midfielder. TFC also got players involved on the wing like Justin Morrow and Warren Creavalle.

Jozy Altidore played 65 minutes and was TFC's first sub off minutes after scroing. He is still coming back from a hamstring injury.

Jonathan Osorio did everything right except he still couldn't score even when set up for in-box shots. This carried over from earlier games.

Dominic Oduro came in as a sub for Impact at 67 minutes and played well but he is recovering from an injury so was not a starter.

There were giveaways on the way out. I was too late for a package of Primo pasta but did get a carton of sample size Speed Stick Gear antiperspirant (there are 12 in a box) which was better than the one sample they gave me after Saturday's game. Outside I was given a small bottle of Coke as a souvenir of the Women's World Cup taking place in six other Canadian cities.

A transit delay would have meant I could have put the deodorant to good use as I was on the new extended streetcar that broke down. The power went off and on three times. No windows to open...appear the doors couldn't be opened either...no announcements could be heard..I would rather have got out and walked then be trapped on a soon overheating streetcar. Because they are on tracks, our streetcar held up all the streetcars behind so the whole system was delayed.
