It's been a while since the last home fixture for the Windsor Stars. First, a rescheduled match, and then
last Friday the weather forced another postponement. It was with much anticipation that Pro Stars Academy
rolled into town to fill the soccer void.

The teams took the pitch and quickly the tone was set for the game. Pro Stars adopted a defensive posture while
Windsor played one-touch ball, looking for a chink in the visitor's armour.

Early on, Stars striker Stefan Milidrag came close, bested only by the strong performance of Pro Stars keeper
Philip Borowski. In the 17th minute, however, Milidrag broke through the defence to beat Borowski low
to the left corner.

The attempts by Pro Stars were few, but were still dangerous. Shortly before halftime, the Pro Stars looked
to equalize and made an attack up the left wing. A misplay by the Windsor defence allowed the pushing team
to penetrate deep into zone. The strike would eventually go wide of keeper Kyle Vizirakis in the goal.

Starting in the 68th minute, both sides began substituting for fresh legs. Boue was first to enter
for ProStars, replacing Donald. Eight minutes later, Milidrag was removed by Topalovic in favour
of Brett Holmberg. The move almost paid off when Holmberg had a chance on goal but sailed the ball over
top and out of danger.

During four minutes of stoppage time, ProStars pushed to tie the score, winning a free kick from 23 yards.
The ball was struck into the box, where Vizirakis rose to secure the save, but missed. He was able
to recover the ball in the ensuing scramble to preserve the clean sheet.

Milidrag's 17th minute goal stood up as the winner at the final whistle. Windsor carried the day with
a 1-0 victory, though the margin could have been wider.

It was evident that Windsor had been taking advantage of the downtime to sharpen their skills and
absorb some new players. At the same time, the team bid farewell to Mike Pio, Noah Pio, and Carlos Soares,
all playing now for the Windsor Lancers. In their place, the Stars picked up Josh Rogers
from Detroit City F.C.

As well, Noah Pio was selected to the Canadian Soccer Association's under-20 development camp.

The Windsor Stars will play next on Sunday August 30 at Sheridan College, Oakville, home of the league
leaders Oakville Blue Devils - 4 p.m. kickoff. The next home match for the Stars is Friday September 4
as they welcome ANB Futbol to McHugh Soccer Complex,

For their part, Pro Stars will play host to Woodbridge Strikers at Victoria Park Stadium in Brampton
on Saturday August 29, 7 p.m. kickoff.
