Nicholas Theobald (42') and Dylan Mickaleff (5') potted goals for the Pro Stars, while Philip Borowski kept
the clean sheet, en route to a 2-0 victory over Sanjaxx Lions. The win was Pro Stars' third of the season,
and propelled them into ninth place in the standings.

"Our team is a young team and so we must train to match the competitiveness and intensity levels
of the opponent," said Sanjaxx head coach, Laza Lowe. "Once we do that, we can use some tactical
arrangements to achieve a result, but matching levels of competitiveness and intensity is the main focus."

"We will take this win and use it to continue to build and and develop the young players in the squad
who have excelled in training at the academy," said Pro Stars coach Peter Mellon.

"Also gives the older players confidence in a positive team dressing room, and allows us to focus
on our plans in a team environment on the training ground with the right recovery time off the field."

Both coaches singled out the goalscorers for special mention.

"[Dylan Mickaleff} that scored the first goal showed a lot of understanding, talent, movement, and worked
well with his team," said Lowe.

"My MVP goes to Nicholas Theobald, who not only was solid in defence and had a excellent game overall, but
he also demonstrated he is equally as good moving forward in attacking and supporting position," said Mellon.
"He was also requested to play out of position for part of the game."

Lowe and Mellon were also in agreement on the Sanjaxx MVP, Matt Zaikos, who last week earned an honourable
mention in the League1 Ontario mid-season all-star list.

"Matt Zaikos did a tremendous job and he is an asset to our team," said Lowe. "He came up big for us again
yesterday, and we need to work better in front of him to achieve results."

"I thought the goalkeeper from the opposition not only made some excellent saves, but also coached the
his team well from the back," added Mellon.

Mellon focused on some key moments in the match, both for Pro Stars and Sanjaxx, that proved decisive
to the result.

"I believe when we started to press higher up into the final third we were paid dividends in scoring
two goals," he concluded. "In addition, I thought the sending off of one of our players forced
us to structure our formation differently, in a more defensive mode, and also the the missed penalty
kick by the opposition gave us additional confidence."

Sanjaxx Lions plays again on Saturday August 8 at Country Day School, King City vs. ANB Futbol
- 9 p.m. kickoff.

Pro Stars also plays on Saturday August 8 at L'Amoreaux Park, Scarborough vs. Master's FA Saints
