Kingston Clippers took the penultimate quarter-final spot after a tense 4-3 win over their hosts
Master's FA Saints in 2015 L1 Cup action.

Kingston went up two after goals by striker duo Eric Koskins (5') and Ryan McCurdy (24'). The pair
replicated the act in the late stages with Koskins depositing on fifty-seven minutes, and McCurdy
finding the net again in the seventy-fourth. However, Masters made sure this was no walkover
by the visitors.

Saints' striker Alex Dimitriu (50') got the night started for the hosts just after the half-time break,
before Sam Gardner (65') and Michael Bershov (86') made clear signs of a Master's resurgence.
Kingston held their nerve, and defensive lines, until the official's final whistle, but it certainly
wasn't easy going for the eastern Ontario club.

"Masters making it 2-1 brought the game to life," said Kingston technical director, Chris Eveleigh.
"Until then we seemed very comfortable. Not getting a third goal and letting Masters back in to the
game just as at the weekend made for a nervy finale."

"The key moment in the match was the penalty call on a foul on our defender that surprised the
opponents, fans, and our players, to put Kingston up in the game," said Master's head coach,
Junior Groves.

"But Alex Dimitriu worked for his opportunities and scored a beauty from 25 yards out.
Darryn Commissiong and other 1999 players that started and held down the midfield for us were
very good also. Farzan Mirzazadeh in central defence, although frustrated by some of the calls,
kept his cool to the end of the game and did a wonderful job with some very timely tackles.
Mike Bershov worked very hard in central defence, and scored an important goal too."

Eveleigh was happy with the Clippers perofrmance, and hopes it is a harbinger of results to come.

"We have a run of home games from now, and we will aim to make Kingston a very difficult place
to come," he concluded.

Kingston commences a run of home games on Saturday July 11 at Tindall Field (Queens University),
taking on Woodbridge Strikers in a 2 p.m. kickoff.

Masters is also at home on Saturday July 11, taking on ANB Futbol at L'Amoreaux Park, 9 p.m. kickoff.
