May 30, 2015 League 1 Ontario--ANB Futbol vs Woodbridge Strikers (from League 1 Ontario press release)
ANB Futbol 1 - Woodbridge Strikers 0 . Sun May 31 Written By: Staff, League1 ANB striker Jason Mills scored the only goal of the day, as weather conditions continually threatened to end this contest between ANB Futbol and Woodbridge Strikers. "This game was played in very bad conditions," said Woodbridge head coach, Peter Pinizzotto. "It was very windy and rain throught the game. Also very difficult to play on such small field, where the game can be very physical because of not having much space on the field, and this will result with many players around the ball." Pinizzotto found a cat and mouse rhythm evident in the match, with the Strikers looking to open up the game with possession play while ANB looked to punish mistakes with a deadly counterattack. "We had more of ball possession and more scoring chances also hitting a crossbar," said Pinizzotto. "ANB were very dangerous on the counter and that's how they got their goal in the last three minutes. I thought Jason Mills was the best player on the field, not only for scoring the goal as he was very good on the ball and very creative." "I will give my goalie Matt George credit for making some good saves in the first half and handling the ball very well with the weather conditions," added Pinizzotto. Woodbridge will hope to get back to winning ways next weekend as they host Master's at Vaughan Grove, while the unbeaten ANB Futbol travel to McNaughton turf in Maple to meet league joint-leaders Vaughan Azzurri on June 7.
