Oakville Blue Devils went to Vaughan Grove and dealt with Woodbridge Strikers in convincing fashion on Sunday, 
leaving the away grounds as worthy 2-0 winners.

"We're really pleased to come out of Woodbridge with three points, that's not an easy place to go," said 
Oakville Blue Devils head coach, Duncan Wilde. "[Head coach] Peter always puts strong teams together. 
Not a lot of teams will come away from there with three points so we see that as very valuable."

"Not a very good game from our team, Oakville Blue deserved the win," said Woodbridge head coach 
Peter Pinizzotto. "[The] Oakville top player I thought was their striker #9, who gave us many problems, 
moved very well without the ball, and used his body well to protect and control many forward passes."

"Our outstanding player, without question, was our striker - Felipe Vilela," agreed Wilde. "He led the 
line very, very well, and gave Woodbridge all kinds of problems early on. He really played a good front 
man role, bringing other players into the play. He took a physical beating from the very tenacious 
Woodbridge markers, so I thought he did very well."

Anthony Doran scored his second in two games for the Blue Devils, despite being removed at half-time due 
to injury, and Oakville managed to see out the contest with a clean sheet for Daniel Voci.

"Daniel didn't play last week, and we made a number of changes to the squad overall," said Wilde. "We want 
to get as many young players into [League1] as we can, and we also wanted to find out if they could handle 
it, so we made some changes from last week.

"We brought back Adrian Butters, who has recently made the Guyanese National squad, and will be missing 
him to national camp in two weeks. In all, we changed three of our back five from last week and that 
is a lot of changes. I was very pleased with how the back four played, in particular, and overall I was 
very happy given the number of changes."

Both coaches agreed that the turning point of the match was in the award of a penalty to Oakville.

"I think the defender made the play on our man after the ball was gone," said Wilde, "which gave 
us an opportunity to go ahead. We went on from that and had another fifteen minutes of strong possession, 
catching them in possession in the back and getting a well deserved two-nil lead at half-time. We managed 
to hold onto it in the second half."

"I thought the Oakville Blue played a very direct game, with not much possession but very effective with 
their long balls," said Pinizzotto. "I thought [we] controlled more of the possession, but we were not 
effective on breaking their defence."
