Attendance was about 90 on this mild night with the sun already set before the game began and the temperature cooling. The late start meant there were few children here.

Referee Justin Tasev gave out three Yellow cards that I counted (two to TFCA) in a game that was rough in spots. Hopefully he and the assistants were deaf to the TFCA heckling parents. Trying to piece the assists together after the game I saw Richie Ennin had an ice pack on his knee. He'd picked up the injury on a collision jumping over the WS goalie at 49 minutes although he wasn't subbed off until 78 minutes.

The game was broken open at the beginning of the second half with TFCA got off to a flying start. I didn't notice head coach Stuart Neely here tonight but assistant coaches Rick Titus (who said after the game he usually coaches the 1999s) and Dino Lopez (new to the TFC staff this year—and former player on the Toronto Blizzard and North York Rockets in the CSL and he said he retired as a player in 1996 and after that coaching and technical positions with different associations although longest with Oakville Soccer Club) must have got the team to switch on another gear.

This result would certainly be considered an upset. Strikers had won the League Cup on Sunday evening beating Sigma FC 2-1 but TFCA had also played Sunday afternoon hosting and beating Kingston 5-1.

Strikers had only given up four goals in ten games until tonight for the best defence in the league. Defenders Gabriel Sosa and Vincenzo Sasso who played in the Cup final were serving suspensions in league play and their presence was sorely missed.

Strikers stay in sixth place in the league with a record of 7 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses for 22 points. TFCA leaps from tenth to eighth place in one game at a record of 5 wins, 1 tie, 8 losses for 16 points passing both Kingston and Pro Stars. Strikers had needed to win their four games in hand to tie for first place with Oakville.
