We will also be announcing the format for the 2015 L1 Cup Competition this week. Stay Tuned! LARIN SCORES FIRST GOAL FOR CANADA Brampton, Ontario native Cyle Larin, formerly of Sigma FC and now plying his trade with MLS expansion side Orlando City FC, recorded his first international goal on March 30th, helping Canada to resounding 3-0 win over Puerto Rico in an international friendly that was played in Bayamon, PR. The 19 year old striker came in as a second half substitute and nearly scored immediately upon taking the field but had his shot cleared off the line by a Puerto Rican defender. His first goal for Canada came in the 77th minute as he redirected a cross from the right flank past the Puerto Rican keeper. Congratulations to Cyle and we wish him continued success with Canada and Orlando City. USL WEEK 3 ROUNDUP TFC II, whose roster featured eight players who starred in League1 Ontario in the 2014 season, hit a bit of a bump in the road on April 4th, falling 4-1 to New York Red Bulls II at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. TFC's only goal on the day was registered as an own goal but it was created by former TFC Academy star Luca Uccello, whose shot was redirected by Red Bulls defender (and Canadian international) Karl Ouimette and ended up beating RBNY II goalkeeper Kyle Reynish. The young Reds have a bye week coming up and will return to action on April 19th when they travel to BC to take on Vancouver Whitecaps II. Elsewhere around the league, Sounders FC 2 and Real Monarchs, featuring former Sigma FC stars Giuliano Frano and Emery Welshman respectively, both had the week off. Both sides will return to action this coming weekend. RANJITSINGH SIGNS WITH LOUISVILLE CITY FC Another key member of the 2014 Sigma FC roster has made the jump to USL. Goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh has signed a professional contract with Louisville City FC. We wish Greg the best of luck as he takes the next step in his soccer career.
